The university will host a site visit with a peer review team representing the Higher Learning Commission. The team will review the university’s ongoing ability to meet the HLC criteria for accreditation and complete a multi-campus visit associated with the joint accreditation and change of control process.
Site visit meetings for the change of control evaluation will focus on the future relationship between UNL and UNMC including expanded pathways for current and future students, accelerated research, and enhanced service to the state of Nebraska.
The HLC Peer Review Team will host open sessions on the criteria for accreditation. The team has also requested specific meetings to better understand issues related to experiential learning, statewide engagement and partnerships, resources, budget, and strategic planning. They will spend a half-day at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in meetings focused on academics and student services.
