The Office of the Executive Vice Chancellor provides the guiding vision and framework for the overall academic leadership of the campus and also provides executive leadership to the units supporting the academic mission of the campus. The above vision statement guides all of its activities and programs.

The EVC Office is charged with leading campus efforts to achieve excellence across all areas of the academic enterprise through oversight of undergraduate teaching and learning; graduate mentoring; faculty development, promotion and tenure; resource allocation; strategic planning; and the development of innovative academic initiatives that will be recognized as unique signature strengths.

The Executive Vice Chancellor and Chief Academic Officer leads and directs the university’s academic enterprise. This position reports directly to the chancellor and is the responsible authority in the absence of the chancellor.

Primary responsibilities include oversight of all academic programs, with the exception of the Institute for Agriculture and Natural Resources, and budget planning involving nine colleges and schools; faculty and staff development and personnel matters; oversight of the following divisions: student affairs, research and economic development, diversity and inclusion, enrollment management; libraries, international affairs; as well as institutional effectiveness and analytics, institutional accreditation, and student learning assessment.
