Search begins for fine and performing arts dean

The University of Nebraska–Lincoln has launched a national search to select its next dean of the Hixson-Lied College of Fine and Performing Arts. The recruitment advisory committee will be chaired by Shari Veil, Dean of the College of Journalism and Mass Communications. Isaacson, Miller, a leading national executive search firm, will assist the committee with the search.

    Pre-session shifts faculty start date to Jan. 10

    When the NU Board of Regents approved the two-week pre-session for early January, it shifted UNL's spring semester back by one week. As a result, the first working day of the spring semester for nine-month faculty has shifted from Jan. 3 to Jan. 10.

    UNL's inclement weather policy will be updated at the end of the fall semester to reflect the implementation of instructional continuity. Instructors should update their syllabus by the start of spring classes to indicate how they will communicate their continuity plans with students.

    Wilhelm to serve as interim executive vice chancellor

    Bob Wilhelm has been selected to serve in an interim role as the University of Nebraska–Lincoln’s executive vice chancellor. Wilhelm will continue to serve as the leader of the university’s research and economic development enterprise.
