New Faculty Resource Guide

Faculty Affairs

Faculty Affairs in the Office of the Executive Vice Chancellor provides leadership on activities, initiatives, and policies that support faculty careers, enhance faculty productivity, recognize faculty excellence, cultivate academic leadership, promote an inclusive campus climate, and advise on faculty rights and responsibilities at UNL. Faculty Affairs also provides professional development, community, resources, communication, and support to academic leaders across campus.

New Faculty Orientation and the New Faculty Development Program are designed to welcome new faculty to the university, assist with becoming acquainted with UNL's community and programs, and provide advice on getting off to a productive and fulfilling start at Nebraska. Below are additional resources that are helpful to new faculty.

Faculty Senate

UNL participates in shared governance between the faculty and administration through the Faculty Senate, which is the governing agency for dealing with matters of interest to more than one college and acts as the official voice of the faculty. The Faculty Senate also advises and consults with student, staff, and administrative groups on matters of general concern, which include but are not limited to: the budget, institutional planning, library and computer operations, student academic conduct in the classroom, and the selection of academic-administrative personnel. Here are some resources of interest for new faculty.
